Open in Gardenvale since 2010, this café and roastery takes its name from the fable of Omar, the exiled dervish said to have stumbled onto coffee after a bird handed him a branch of red berries. The whole identity runs on that demystifying spirit: the mission is to get people excited about coffee and cut through the jargon. Beyond the daily café and beans it ships nationally, it runs Next Door, a training room teaching espresso and filter technique so a home cup matches the café's. Single origins are sourced down to the farm.
