A 2,500-hectare seventh-generation sheep farm in Gretna, an hour north-west of Hobart in the Derwent Valley. The accommodation building started as stables and grain lofts in 1862, was rebuilt as shearers quarters after fires in 1967, and is now a single homestead. Three lakes for fly fishing (no licence required), a blacksmith shop running 2-hour workshops, museums on the property, and 90+ bird species recorded including 7 of 12 Tasmanian endemics. Native wildlife night tours, a working shearing shed, and a bathtub overlooking the paddocks.
