The Break O'Day region's museum, at the St Helens visitor centre on the East Coast of Tasmania, with more than a thousand artefacts arranged by the stages of the town's settlement and a photographic archive running past twenty thousand images. It traces the area from Indigenous heritage and maritime and whaling history to the Chinese tin miners who worked the northeast and the early pioneers inland. A self-guided heritage walk leads out from the door.
