Jodie Neilson started selling sweets at Brisbane markets in 2013 after a trip to Paris, with a plan to make confectionery for grown-ups rather than children. New Farm Confectionery now works out of an old Newstead warehouse, making caramels, brittles, honeycomb, rocky road and chocolate barks by hand each day, with macadamias and Callebaut couverture. The shopfront sells by the bag, and the kitchen runs masterclasses in chocolate, honeycomb and marshmallow.
