Matt Dwight is a woodturner in Sydney's north, making bowls and pepper grinders on the lathe and shaping natural-edge serving boards, all from salvaged and recycled timber and named species like Sydney Blue Gum, Huon Pine and Sheoak. He names the timber on every object and makes the odd specialist piece too, including traditional wooden bookbinding equipment. He teaches the craft as well, and the work is built to last and take on patina with use.
