Bodalla Dairy
South Coast NSW, NSW
Walk in seven days a week between 9.30 and 5 to Bodalla Dairy on the Princes Highway — the family-owned operation reviving cheese-making in the village Sir Thomas Mort built as a dairy estate in the 1860s. Watch the make room through the viewing windows (cheese Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, milk pasteurising Tuesday, ice cream Sunday through Wednesday). Buy direct: the Bush Tucker Cheddar range with native Australian ingredients — Saltbush, Quandong, Eucalyptus, Wattleseed (Saltbush and Lemon Myrtle both won Gold at the 2019 DIAA awards), unhomogenised Living Milk (best in NSW 2018), and the ice cream churned on-site. Bottle-feed calves at 10am and 4pm. Friday nights from 5pm: Camp Oven Dinners and pizzas overlooking the dairy farm. Between Moruya and Narooma on the NSW South Coast.
