Fiona started Ashculme Textiles with her mother in 2016 on their Riverina farm, where they keep a small herd of Suri alpacas, the rarer kind whose fleece hangs in silky dreadlocks. She turns that fleece into fine yarn, weaves it with Australian merino on the loom, and dyes it with eucalyptus leaves gathered nearby, so the colour carries the local bush. The results are scarves, wraps, cowls and ponchos, sold at markets and online, with studio visits and classes by arrangement.
