The Tamborine

Twenty-three rooms on the escarpment of Tamborine Mountain, with views that run to the horizon from every window. Heated mineral pool, fire pits on the edge, a private spa room, and a colour palette pulled from the subtropical rainforest outside. The Courier Mail called it Slim Aarons in the hinterland — that's about right. Continental breakfast included, LEIF amenities, and a 'Friends of The Tamborine' programme that points you to the mountain's farm gates, producers, and restaurants. An hour from Brisbane, half an hour from the Gold Coast, and a long way from both.
