Cyriel runs what it bills as Tasmania's only certified-organic coffee roaster, working from a 103-year-old shed fitted out by hand with salvaged equipment and run entirely on solar. The roasting is unusual: hot air instead of gas, done by hand and to order. Green beans come through direct trade with small-farmer cooperatives, which is how a Nepalese Himalayan coffee turns up in the range. The public side is a 60-year-old off-grid Land Rover van that pours at the Devonport Farmers Market on the second and fourth Saturdays each month.
