A former bank building on the corner of Denham and Flinders Streets, Perc Tucker holds over 4,000 works drawn from North Queensland, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Pacific traditions. The biennial Percivals portrait competition and North Queensland Ceramic Awards give the program its local stakes. The permanent collection's organising idea — life in the tropics — is specific enough to actually mean something.
