Pauline O'Shannessy-Dowling grew up on a Wimmera farm beside the Richardson River, in a house with pressed-metal walls and art nouveau ceilings. Both still show up in her Ballarat work: quirky houses, trees, clouds, and raindrop motifs rendered in colour and pattern across prints, mugs, and scarves. Textile classes — granny squares — run in winter.
