Peter and Angelika bought 158 acres at Glen Forbes about 14 years ago and turned a hobby farm into a genuine paddock-to-plate operation — three hydroponic sheds totalling 10,000m² growing tomatoes, basil, eggplant, cucumbers and capsicums, free-range pork and beef raised on-farm and sold through the on-site butcher, and a kilometre of waist-high pick-your-own strawberry rows (wheelchair-accessible, September to April). The produce store stocks all of it alongside lamb, honey, jams, cheeses and fruit from other South Gippsland farmers. The on-site café cooks from what's harvested — bread, condiments and cakes all housemade — with seasonal opening hours (open every day in January). Ten minutes from Phillip Island.
