On Darkinjung Road, north of Sydney, this working sanctuary sits on a heritage-listed Aboriginal cultural landscape with sites more than 4,000 years old. Rescued wombats, Tasmanian devils, emus and kangaroos roam freely; some are part of active breed-for-release programs for endangered species. Kids aged 7–12 can join ranger day-camps during school holidays. Open every day, 9:30am to 5pm.
