William Dean, a ticket-of-leave convict, built this two-storey Georgian coaching inn from handmade brick in 1860 to serve the track next door — still the oldest continuously raced course in Australia. Three ensuite rooms: Baltic pine ceilings upstairs, a twelve-foot king room with spa bath below. Roses on the brickwork, a wood fire, full cooked breakfast in the vaulted dining room. Fifteen minutes from Launceston airport.
