Saraton Theatre

Northern Rivers, NSW

A 1926 Art Deco theatre on Prince Street, Grafton — the operators claim it's Australia's oldest and largest at 950 seats, restored under a National Trust top award. Two adjacent 150-seat stadium cinemas were built later to make a triple complex, all with digital projection, hypercoustic surround sound, wheelchair access, and hearing loops. Programming runs from first-run mainstream and family films through music documentaries (Iron Maiden, Michael Jackson) and retros (Top Gun 40th). Live theatre, concerts, and conventions also booked through the main 950-seat auditorium.
