A modern independent twin cinema on Merimbula's main street, named after the 1977 Australian film about Lawrence Penn — a travelling cinema operator who toured rural NSW with silent films in the 1920s. Founded in 1993 by Denis, a former RAAF engineer who returned to his hometown to start it. Moved to a purpose-built twin cinema in 1997. Daily new release screenings, Dolby Digital Surround Sound, Movie Club membership with birthday-week free tickets. Denis sits on the Independent Cinemas Association of Australia Board representing NSW and ACT members.
