A dedicated jazz club down a narrow CBD laneway, opened in 2005 by a working drummer in a three-storey 1895 warehouse — two performance rooms and a Gallery tapas bar, done out in a post-war Paris bebop mood. Nearly twenty years on it's one of Melbourne's essential jazz rooms, running an eclectic program of local and international acts, with a tapas-and-cocktail menu and an iconic basement stage. The Age named it one of five must-see Melbourne venues.
