When Errol Chamberlain planted his first pear trees in Paracombe in 1932, perry wasn't the plan. Eighty years later, his great-grandson Damian turned those same trees into the basis for a perry operation on the family's 50-acre block. The original fruit still goes to fresh markets; the rest becomes something the family hadn't tried in four generations.
