Morialta Conservation Park, in the Adelaide Hills ten kilometres east of the city, on Kaurna Country. The name is Kaurna — moriatta, "ever-flowing" — for Fourth Creek which runs through the gorge and over its three waterfalls (First, Second and Third Falls), best in winter and spring. The First Falls are reached by a sealed path from the main carpark; the Second and Third Falls climb from there into steeper country, with the Morialta Falls Plateau Hike linking them into a circuit. The park has been a public reserve for more than a century, with quartzite cliffs that draw rock climbers, koalas in the eucalypts, a mob of grey kangaroos in the gully, and the new Mukanthi nature play space at the foot of the park. Eagles Nest Lookout above the First Falls is the canonical viewpoint. Access via Giants Cave is currently closed; the Plateau is reached via the Second and Third Falls Hike.
