McLaren Eye

Adelaide, SA

A hilltop architectural retreat in Kangarilla, 13km from McLaren Vale, designed as two living pods linked by covered walkways to a central pavilion. Built on stilts with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, the property sleeps two to four across 300 square metres, with 180-degree views across the valley and Adelaide hills. Owners Joylene and Rob Edwards spent thirteen years securing planning approval before construction began in 2012. A separate 1899 cottage nearby, Amanda's Cottage, is available for extended parties or weddings.
