McLaren Eye

Thirteen years and five planning applications preceded the building permit for this hilltop property in Kangarilla. The result: two bedroom pods on stilts, linked by covered walkways to a central pavilion with floor-to-ceiling glass and 180-degree views across McLaren Vale. Rob and Joylene Edwards' instinct to build something structurally unusual in wine country, rather than another farmhouse conversion, was the right one.
