Long RidgeLookout

ADELAIDE HILLS, SA

A walking lookout on the western escarpment of Cleland National Park, on Kaurna Country, with a panoramic view across Adelaide to Gulf St Vincent. The lookout is reached on foot — about two and a half kilometres along the Long Ridge Track from the main Cleland carpark on Mount Lofty Summit Road, or via the longer Chambers Gully Hike from Waterfall Gully Road. Koalas are common on the climb up; kangaroos sometimes on the ridge itself. The view is best in early morning before the city haze sets in. Used as a checkpoint on the Cleland 50 ultra trail marathon each June.
