Thirty minutes west of Toowoomba on the Warrego Highway, this heritage-listed shearing shed anchors a recreated 19th-century station village where volunteers run the place. Clydesdales, a working blacksmith, whip cracking and sheep shearing fill out the afternoon; billy tea and damper follow. The annual Heavy Horse weekend draws an 11-horse draught team hauling a 10-tonne wagon from southern NSW.
