Two vineyards, two distinct geologies. The Heathcote site near Colbinabbin sits on 550-million-year-old Cambrian greenstone — copper-infused basalt streaked with limestone — planted at twice regional vine density for Shiraz and Sangiovese. The Yarra Glen cellar door, originally planted in 1983 by Louis Bialkower with James Halliday's help, handles Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Serious provenance on both counts.
