Gail Tavener has been winning awards for painting since 1981 and for photography since 1964. Her Golden Square studio shows watercolours, oils, pastels and acrylics spanning Bendigo streetscapes, native flora and historic trams — including prints from her 1972 film negatives documenting the city's last tram days. Tea towels, cushion covers and journals printed with her work are made locally in Bendigo.
