On Light Terrace in Thebarton, Es Ceramics runs production work alongside public workshops where beginners throw on the wheel, hand-build forms and decorate surfaces in a single three-hour session. Friday nights come with a complimentary drink. Two pieces get fired. You leave with something wonky and useful — a mug, maybe a planter — and a reasonable understanding of how it got that way.
