Built in 1856 and still without a poker machine, the East Sydney Hotel on Cathedral Street, Woolloomooloo, earns its self-declared title of last country pub in Sydney. The front bar runs on regulars and memorabilia; upstairs, rooms sit close to the CBD. Sundays mean roasts and live jazz from Conservatorium graduates, 4–7pm.
