Built in 1988–89 by Ron and Pam Birkett on two freehold parcels bordering Daintree National Park, the Discovery Centre is the introductory venue for the rainforest — aerial walkways, a 23-metre canopy tower, a Jurassic Forest section, and an interpretive boardwalk through lowland forest on the slopes of the Alexandra Range. Eight-language audio tour, 68-page guidebook, 7-day re-entry. Bought in 2016 by the Aboriginal Development Benefits Trust, which administers Century Mine funds for Gulf Indigenous communities. Eastern Kuku Yalanji country.
