Queensland's longest-running microbrewery started with a single idea: a ginger beer made with Buderim ginger. That was 1998. Greg and Brigid Curran took over in 2006 and steered things toward traditional world styles — slowly enough to bring the XXXX crowd with them. The 2009 Champion Reduced Alcohol Beer at the Australian International Beer Awards didn't hurt. Spent grain goes to a local cattle farmer; hot water loops back to clean the brewhouse.
