French-trained winemaker Céline Rousseau has been making wine at this Young winery since the first Hilltops vintage in 2000. The vineyards — Rockleigh and Kylmorn, both just south of town — grow Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay on red sandy loam. Tumbarumba fruit comes in for Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. Honest, regionally specific work from a corner of NSW still largely supplying grapes to bigger players elsewhere.
