Kate Stuart spent fifteen years making sculptural work and community public art before returning to her own practice. Now she wheel-throws small batches of tableware from a South Gippsland studio, developing glazes that track the tidal colours of Venus Bay — the coastal vegetation, the river mouth, the shifting atmosphere of that particular stretch of wild coast.
