William Derham planted the first five acres at Marcus Hill in 2002 — Pinot Noir and Chardonnay chosen for the Bellarine's cool maritime air. The approach since has been low-yield, minimal intervention: fewer bunches per vine, slow ripening, natural acidity intact. The cellar door café sits a few hundred metres from the vines, with museum stock available alongside current releases.
