Balnaves ofCoonawarra

Doug and Annette Balnaves sold their farm in the early 1970s and planted the first vines at the southern end of Coonawarra's terra rossa strip in 1975. Their children Pete and Kirsty joined in 1990, when the label launched. Half a century on, it remains a family operation — unhurried, unfussy, and still pulling from the same red soils.
