Jim and Kay Mobbs planted the first Chardonnay vines here in 1985, on the alluvial flats of their Herons Creek property. Four decades on, the farm spans vineyard, beef cattle, and a lilly pilly hedge maze — the latter designed by son Ian, a landscape architect who returned from Canberra to reshape the family land. Son Steve makes the wine; daughter Kellie designs the labels.
