A hotel on Liverpool Street since 1867, named after a visiting American warship. Re-established in 2013 as an art-infused boutique with shared bathrooms, no TVs, no kettles, no air conditioning, and eucalyptus oil in the hallways. They use Who Gives a Crap toilet paper and glass water bottles and they'll tell you all of this before you book because they'd rather lose the booking than get the review. Small bar with a plant-filled balcony open to the public. Tassie-owned, brutally honest, and smells like a eucalypt forest. The website is terrible. The hotel is not.
