Forty minutes from Adelaide, on a ten-acre garden estate Alan Irving has tended since 1979, Al Ru Farm offers three distinct suites — a French-furnished standalone cottage, an Australia Suite with a gumtree-branch ceiling light and hand-painted bathroom, and a converted barn — sleeping up to fifteen. Charolais cattle graze the paddocks outside. The garden, shaped largely by Alan's late wife Ruth, remains the reason to come.
